Tocan

Tocan is a two-factor authentication app for iPhone and Apple Watch, which stores tokens in your iCloud Keychain, enabling you to log into third-party services such as Google and Facebook.

The icon design features a toucan – this is a play on words, referencing two-factor authentication and tokens. Based upon a variety of photographic references of the birds, I developed a graphical representation of the bird comprised entirely of straight lines and circles, which closely follows Apple’s design grid for iOS and watchOS app icons.
